About Dean Black:
An eighth-generation Northeast Florida native, Dean Black was born and raised in Jacksonville and earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Mississippi. He and his wife, Kim, have five children and six grandchildren.
Black is a business owner, cattle rancher, and proud Air Force veteran. He also served with the 125th Fighter Wing of the Florida Air National Guard.
From 2018 through 2024, Black served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Duval County, where he helped build one of the strongest county party organizations in the state. He now serves as Duval County Republican State Committeeman, where he sits on the Florida GOP Rules Committee and serves as Finance Chair for the Republican Party of Florida.
A staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, Black has been a longtime campaign surrogate and leader within the Republican Party. He served as an official delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2020 and 2024 and was one of Florida’s 30 presidential electors in 2024.
In 2022, Black was elected to the Florida House of Representatives, winning his primary with 64% of the vote and the general election overwhelmingly. He was re-elected in November 2024 by nearly 30 points. During his service in the House, Black served as Vice Chair of the Select Committee on Property Taxes, Vice Chair of the Education Administration Subcommittee, and as a member of the Health & Human Services, Agriculture & Natural Resources Budget, Civil Justice & Claims, Intergovernmental Affairs, and Natural Resources & Disasters subcommittees.
